Upon graduating from college, Teech moved back to Northern California, became an Army chaplain and senior minister. He began recording music in the fall of 2010 while working on a kingdom ethics assignment as a student at Fuller Theological Seminary. He received rave reviews from faculty and classmates alike. That's when he realized he should exercise his passion for hip hop.
Teech began recording more tracks on a regular basis as a hobby and founded a small record label with his brothers J. Darden and Sean Chris. In 2012, Teech met some brothers in Christ who founded Kerusso Music. It was a natural fit.
In July 2014, he released his debut mixtape, Church in the Wild. Teech is currently working on his next project, Second Self.
Teech, aka Jason Darden, is a senior minister, Army chaplain and Christian hip-hop recording artist who currently resides in Mission Viejo, California.
He was born in Berkeley but was raised in Atlanta, Georgia due to his father's military career. He grew up going to church as a youngster and later attended Harding University, a Christian school in Searcy, Arkansas, to play football and work towards his bachelors degree in theology. While at Harding university Teech met his wife. They've shared in matrimony for 13 years now and together have two daughters, ages 12 and 10.
